The effects of lack of water, especially clean water, reverberates in every facet of life— especially in an agricultural society. The district of Adaklu, located in the South-Eastern section of Ghana, is remote, poor, and devoid of water facilities. Less than half of its population is unable to access clean water, and very few families have access to improved sanitation. The rural areas suffer from many waterborne diseases, including diarrhea. Adaklu Water Project partners with communities to construct water systems in Ghana, as well as to provide health and hygiene education.
